Since its founding in 1973 the St John Historical Society has relied on the financial support of individuals to advance the society’s mission of promoting an appreciation and deeper understanding of the history and cultural heritage of the island of St. John in the U. S. Virgin Islands.
The St. John Historical Society is a registered, non-profit, 501(3)(c) organization, which means that all donations may be treated as a tax deductible charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes. The Society will provide a written receipt for tax purposes for all donations.
Membership benefits include a subscription to the St John Historical Society Newsletter and invitations to special events. New members will also receive a copy of Lt. Peter L. Oxholm's map of St John, revised in 1800.
Membership categories include:
- Student $10,
- Individual $25,
- Partners (2 persons with one mailing address) $40, &
- Household 3+ persons with one mailing address) $50.
- We are asking our Lifetime members to consider a voluntary annual contribution of a minimum of $10 to help defray some of our current costs.
